Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

Actual project times can vary, but we aim to have you up and running in days or weeks, not months.

Yes. In most cases we can port your existing phone numbers to TalkAnywhere. Porting timelines vary by carrier and by how the numbers are currently set up (e.g., landline vs. VoIP, single number vs. large blocks). We’ll guide you through what’s needed and help you plan a cutover that minimizes disruption.

Yes. We can provide supported desk phones and configure them for you. This is the simplest path if you want the smoothest setup and included device support.

We offer both month-to-month and contract terms. Term agreements can reduce the initial out-of-pocket cost to get started. Your TalkAnywhere account representative can go over the details with you to help you pick the best option for your organization.

Yes. You can add/remove users, update call flows, change business hours, and adjust routing as your needs evolve. Since TalkAnywhere is a managed service, we are happy to make these changes for you, but there's also a portal where many of these items can be adjusted by the customer themselves.

Not usually, but call quality depends on your network. A stable connection, good LAN/Wi-Fi design, and proper firewall/QoS settings can make a big difference. If needed, we can recommend best practices (and help troubleshoot as a billable service if it’s outside the scope of your plan).

Using TalkAnywhere

Yes. Many customers use desk phones, desktop softphones, and mobile apps together so they can take calls anywhere.

Yes. TalkAnywhere is designed for multi-site businesses and remote teams. Users can work from any location with a stable internet connection.

Yes - E911 is supported, but accurate address information is critical. For any user/device that may be used at a specific location, you’ll need to ensure the emergency address is correct and kept up to date.

Yes — TalkAnywhere can support business texting on eligible numbers. SMS is subject to industry A2P 10DLC compliance, which typically requires registering your business/brand and messaging use case, and then being reviewed/approved by the mobile carriers. Because that approval process and carrier policies are outside our control, activation timing, throughput (message volume), and sometimes eligibility can vary.

Yes. TalkAnywhere provides call history with export, and deeper reporting for queues and agents with our Call Center add-ons.

Yes, you can view our current rate deck here.

Hardware Compatibility

Usually, yes. If your phones are modern and support SIP TLS, there’s a good chance they can be reused with TalkAnywhere.

A SIP phone that supports SIP over TLS should work in theory—but real-world results vary by model and firmware. Our customers use brands such as Yealink, Poly (formerly Polycom), Grandstream, Fanvil, Snom, Cisco, and many others.

We can provision phones from most major SIP device makers, as long as the device supports standard provisioning.

To keep things secure and predictable, you’ll need to:

  • Update to the latest firmware available

  • Perform a factory reset before provisioning

If the phones are End of Life (EOL) or Discontinued, we don’t recommend reusing them. Unsupported devices can be unreliable and may not receive security patches.

Phones not purchased through TalkAnywhere aren’t covered under free device support. If we need to troubleshoot or assist with them, that work is treated as billable time.

About TalkAnywhere

TalkAnywhere is powered by CyberLynk Network, LLC. We're a cloud services provider in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with facilities here and in Phoenix, Arizona. We've been building and supporting cloud products since the mid 90's and providing VoIP services since the early 2010s.

TalkAnywhere is built on a leading carrier-grade UCaaS platform used by service providers nationwide. It's hosted and maintained by CyberLynk's TalkAnywhere team.

Because you get a provider that’s built for voice. Cable-company UCaaS is often a re-sold platform with higher pricing, longer contracts, and support that feels like… cable support. With TalkAnywhere, you get US-based help from people who actually work in VoIP, plus onboarding and ongoing changes that don’t force you into a “self-managed” experience.

And if you ever decide to leave, we’ll make sure your numbers are portable and documented, no scavenger hunt for ownership details or a port-out PIN.

That’s a deceptively loaded question. Are we selecting for maximum biomass, biomechanical efficiency, or psychological intimidation? Before we begin, we have to settle the taxonomic dispute: are you asking for a 'classic' non-avian dinosaur, or are we acknowledging the clade Dinosauria in its entirety?

Because if it’s the latter, the question isn’t about an extinct apex predator, it’s about whether your favorite dinosaur is a 12,000kg Tyrannosaurus rex or the pigeon currently judging your fashion choices from a dumpster.

Furthermore, half of what we call 'favorites' are just optimistic interpretations of fragmented fossils and debated dentition. Are you picking a prehistoric animal, or are you just picking a specific paleontologist’s favorite pile of rocks? It’s a philosophical minefield, frankly.

The phone system that goes with you from a provider that stands by you.
